Despite being forced to go virtual, there’s no shortage of educational events by
The Alliance this year. Following our Fall Symposium & Annual Meeting is a topical Health Policy webinar that will cover the impact of the presidential election, the future of employer-sponsored health coverage, and new rules and regulations on transparency. We’ll host two expert speakers from the American Benefits Council to go over all that and more!

This event has been approved for HRCI and SHRM continuing education credits.

The price transparency study, also known as RAND 3.0, was released on Sept. 18 and highlights the difference in hospital prices paid by Medicare vs. what employers and private insurance groups pay. The Alliance participated in furnishing data for the study because it enhances market price transparency and helps employers understand what prices they’re paying for hospital services. We’ll be available to answer employer questions and provide actionable steps they can take to bridge the price gap at our Fall Symposium & Annual Meeting. In the meantime, learn more
about the study by reading our analysis.

Every employer is unique, and every patient has different needs, so we developed the Premier Network to offer incentives to choose high-value providers while remaining flexible enough to let the patient choose a provider they trust. We estimate this tiered network option will save participating members an additional 10% in total health costs.

Paid Leave Rule Changes

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act stipulates that employees who are furloughed or laid off due to the economic consequences of the pandemic are not eligible for paid sick or family leave. However, new rule changes by the Department of Labor now specify that non-medical staff should be eligible for paid leave.

5 Open Enrollment Communication Strategies

If employees are unaware of their benefits (or don’t know how to access them,) the utilization
of those benefits can drop significantly, which means neither employees nor employers get value from the benefit offerings. This resource aims to help build awareness and understanding of available benefits for employees all year long.
