Stopping the Spread of COVID-19 - Opportunities for
Employers to Lead

Dec. 10, 2020 | 10:00am - 11:30am CST

The Alliance, Business Health Care Group (BHCG), and WEA Trust and Health Tradition Plan are hosting the University of Wisconsin-Madison Population Health Institute for a timely webinar.

Dr. Jon Meiman, Chief Medical Officer and State Epidemiologist for Environmental and Occupational Health, will discuss the crucial role employers play in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19. This educational event comes at a critical time as we are fast approaching the holiday season – where large family gatherings occur – and case numbers in Wisconsin are continuing to rise.

The Alliance occasionally works with members and other stakeholders to put together case studies that share their experiences with self-funding. By sharing success stories from fellow employers, The Alliance hopes to offer guideposts employers can use to better control costs and improve the value they get from their health care dollar.

Learn how a small business in a small community spearheaded the creation of a shared-site clinic to provide huge savings for their employees while greatly increasing their access to high-value health care.

Matt Ohrt, VP of HR and Health Services at Merrill Steel, accepted the award on his employer's behalf during the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions' Nov. 9th Annual Forum.

The Employer/Purchaser Excellence Award was presented to the employer or purchaser who demonstrates leadership and innovation in advancing overall health and health care value through their approach to benefit programs and design, employee engagement, and support of coalitions efforts. Previous award recipients include Brakebush Brothers Inc., The Walt Disney Company, and Walmart. The Alliance nominated Merrill Steel for the award.
