Cheryl DeMars to Retire as President and CEO of The Alliance

CEO Retirement

MADISON, WI. (December 14, 2023) – Cheryl DeMars has announced her intention to retire as President and CEO of The Alliance in 2024. The Alliance Board of Directors has formed a search committee and engaged The Jacobson Group, a talent solution company offering executive recruiting services to support them during the recruitment process.

DeMars joined The Alliance in 1992, assuming several roles before becoming CEO in December 2006. She has provided leadership through board service on state and national organizations dedicated to improving the value of healthcare and has testified before Congress on the importance of the role of employers as purchasers of healthcare. She said, “It truly has been a privilege to be part of The Alliance for the past 31+ years. The Alliance is at the forefront of transformative, employer-led change in healthcare. We have accomplished a lot, but there is much more work to do to make healthcare work better for everyone – those that receive care, those who pay for care, and those who are responsible for its delivery.”

Diana Clark, Board Chair stated, “We appreciate Cheryl’s leadership and dedication to The Alliance, and her support during this transition. The Board of Directors is committed to finding the next leader who shares our passion to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare for our employees and our community. The need to unite employers in this pursuit is as important as ever.”
