Rich Derks
Rich is Co-Owner and Business Director for one of The Alliance’s largest mental health practices in Wisconsin. Rich’s degrees include an MBA in Marketing and a BS in Industrial & Systems Engineering, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Prior to launching QUEST Counseling in 2018, Rich had a long career in multiple industries including electronics, industrial distribution, management consulting, and medical device manufacturing. He started his career as an engineer before progressing through various management roles in Operations, I/T, Marketing, Field Services, and Executive Management–including Vice President at Johnson Health Tech in Madison, WI and Division President at Medline in the Chicago area.
Rich is passionate about continuous improvement in the mental health industry; and he enjoys helping organizations with their mental health and wellbeing programs.

Melanie Schoenemann joined The Alliance in September 2025 as Vice President, Business Growth & Member Strategy. In her role, Melanie provides leadership for the Business Development and Account Management teams, helping The Alliance strengthen relationships with employer-members, expand its reach, and continue to innovate on behalf of those the cooperative serves.
Melanie has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, including overseeing strategic growth. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business and a certificate in advanced management at the Wisconsin School of Business, Center for Professional & Executive Development.
